Apache Viking were hatched circa 2009 from members of Newcastle based band Free Diamonds (signed to Deep Elm records in the US), US act Foresake Ya to the Snakes, and the famed Newcastle country band The Devitos.

This unlikely coalition is a jigsaw of pop punk, cartoon lyricism, Russian polka and mid 50’s lo-fi. Instantly Apache Viking were quoted as the best band in Newcastle upon Tyne and ones to watch by BBC 6 music (who have dedicated airplay on many occasions).

Since getting together and recording their first EP late in 2010, Cory Siegler and Marc Merza have kept themselves busy as Lizard Kisses – releasing two cassettes, a single on Beko DSL, two split 7″s (with Florist and My Friend Wallis respectively), a beautiful four track EP entitled ‘Loving Creatures’ and a few digital singles.

Essentially the “band” is Cory Siegler and Marc Merza, with various participants. Lizard Kisses has been a platform for expression, documenting their collaborations with friends – the people they are most inspired by. The “band” is a catalyst to help build friendships and bonds, empower themselves and others to know they have a voice.

The newly released Bleeding Gold 7″ single was completed with the help of Calvin Johnson, Ken Kagami, John Hunter, and Jordan Lee. It has been pressed in an Edition of 150 black vinyls with band-made, hand-numbered covers. The download includes the bonus 3rd track “And The Sun Will Shine For Only Us.”
