Apache Viking were hatched circa 2009 from members of Newcastle based band Free Diamonds (signed to Deep Elm records in the US), US act Foresake Ya to the Snakes, and the famed Newcastle country band The Devitos.

This unlikely coalition is a jigsaw of pop punk, cartoon lyricism, Russian polka and mid 50’s lo-fi. Instantly Apache Viking were quoted as the best band in Newcastle upon Tyne and ones to watch by BBC 6 music (who have dedicated airplay on many occasions).

The band have played around the UK supporting and outplaying names like Eagulls and PAWS. There are overseas hopes for the New Year.

The influences are listed as Les Savy Fav, Link Wray, U.S. Maple, Pavement, The Band + a dozen others.
