THE COLOR EXCHANGE
The Color Exchange is a band from Chapel Hill, NC. Formed in 2012 by songwriting partners Justin Ellis (bass, vocals) and Chris Petto (guitars), the group began under the name Clockwork Kids. Late 2014 saw dramatic lineup and stylistic changes, leading the band to a new name and identity. Since its inception, the band has toured extensively throughout North America, opening for such acts as Cymbals Eat Guitars, Weekend and The Apache Relay, performed at a TED conference and on NPR, ran a successful Kickstarter campaign, and self-released two records. Joined by Chris McCarty (keyboards) and Brett Scott (percussion), the band aims to create a refined and layered alternative indie rock sound, exploring new sonic territories while maintaining catchy, approachable songs that bring out the best of pop.
In April 2015, the band released “Cubed”, their first album as The Color Exchange.
