Posted in Uncategorized with tags Apache Viking, BandCamp, BG089, BGR, Digital Download, EDiLS, Free Download, Uk on March 8, 2015 by bleedinggoldApache Viking were hatched circa 2009 from members of Newcastle based band Free Diamonds (signed to Deep Elm records in the US), US act Foresake Ya to the Snakes, and the famed Newcastle country band The Devitos.
This unlikely coalition is a jigsaw of pop punk, cartoon lyricism, Russian polka and mid 50’s lo-fi. Instantly Apache Viking were quoted as the best band in Newcastle upon Tyne and ones to watch by BBC 6 music (who have dedicated airplay on many occasions).

Posted in Band Update, Music with tags 12", BG079, BGR, Remix, SoundCloud, Tape Waves on February 6, 2015 by bleedinggoldThanks to KILLER PONYTAIL for premiering the new Tape Waves remix by Whitely!!
The heady days of summer may be behind us (or ahead of us if you’re a bit more optimistic) but fear not – US east coast duo Tape Waves are here to add some much needed sunshine to your life. The band released what was undoubtedly one of last year’s stand-out albums in the form of Let You Go, and with the first run of the album now long sold out, the band are releasing a second press run on the ever dependable Bleeding Gold Records.
The re-press comes with a bonus remix of dreamy album opener ‘Slow Days’ and we’re proud to be premiering the track right here.
The remix comes courtesy of fresh faced UK producer Whitely who takes the bright dream pop washes of the original and injects them with a softly pacing tribal drum build before launching into a blissed-out hook of resonating synths and…

Aunt Sis started as the bedroom recording project of Justin Morris, utilizing live vocal looping and melodic guitar progressions to imply something larger. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Aunt Sis now continues this aesthetic as an amplified three piece, with fellow Bleeding Gold members Will Flaugher of Petey, and Justin Hrabovsky of The Sweets.
LIMITED EDITION of 250 pro-dubbed cassettes featuring full-color, 4-panel j-cards and fancy wrap-around outersleeves. ‘9 Tracks’ contains the previously released EP “Winnebago” (Aunt Sis/Blois).

People//Talk formed in a pub in January of 2012 under the original name of So Sexual.
What started out as a few friends who had previously played in bands together thinking that maybe it’d be fun to write a bunch of songs and play a gig (which they did in the space of the first month), has 2 years later proven to have a little more longevity than any of them might have anticipated.
Within that time frame the band now known as People//Talk has developed their own distinct identity, drawing upon elements of post/punk and new wave whilst delivering a contemporary, accessible sound.
For those who are already familiar with and enjoyed the bands previous works as ‘So Sexual’ you will be pleased to find that a change of name doesn’t mean a departure from the overall sound.
CDr pressed in UK with fancy gatefold DIGIPACK jackets.

BG080 | I Hate You
Posted in Band Update, Music with tags BG080, BGR, CA, For Strangers & Wardens, FSAW Records, San Diego, Tim Mudd on October 15, 2014 by bleedinggoldI met Tim (lead-singer/songwriter of For Strangers & Wardens) this summer at a record fair. After a short chat about our prospective roles in the “music industry”, we exchanged contacts and decided to get together to swap stories, exchange some resources and listen to an album he had produced a couple years back. We clicked right off the bat and quickly decided to work together on a new label (FSAW Records) and release his album of Americana-folk sometime in 2015.
The first song to catch me on his yet-to-be-released album is this first single “I Hate You” – not only for the beautiful guitar and mandolin, but also for the evil lyrical content. It’s truly no wonder we clicked like we did since both of our attitudes reflect some dark and tortured elements! Fun.
This a Love Song for jilted lovers.

Album Stream: FURROW – ‘West Felton’
Posted in Band Update, Music with tags BG081, BGR, Furrow, Killer Ponytail on August 25, 2014 by bleedinggoldHear the new FURROW full-length exclusively at KILLER PONYTAIL…
To say that Furrow have been busy recently would be a massive understatement. Between releasing a slew of singles and EPs, as well as tearing up stages with their gnarly brand of cerebral noise across the UK, continental Europe and Japan, Richard Cartwright and Thom Snell have also managed to find the time to write and record their first full length album. And we are excited beyond words (well, apart from the ones you’re reading here) to give you the opportunity to hear the whole album ahead of its release on 1st September.
The album, named after the band’s rural home of West Felton, situated near the Welsh border, might not be quite what you’d expect from two guys hailing from a sleepy English village. West Felton is a powerhouse of towering noise pop built on Cartwright’s relentlessly pounding drums and Snell’s ear ripping bass riffs, all of which coalesce to forge a collection of songs that…
