Maybe it’s something to do with the increased vitamin D exposure on the South East coast of the US, but Carolina based husband and wife duo Tape Waves have a knack for distilling the sun drenched vibes of their home city into perfect nuggets of dream pop. After creating plenty of buzz with the release of their debut EP last year, Kim and Jarod Weldin are all set to amp up everyone’s summer with their debut album Let You Go.

new Tape Waves premiere on Killer Ponytail….
If there’s one word that sums up South Carolina duo Tape Waves, it’s definitely ‘vibes’. And those ‘vibes’ encompass a landscape of sunshine infused dream pop that could only be the product of traveling around making music with the one you love. After setting the bar high with the release of their debut EP last year, husband and wife duo Kim and Jarod Weldin have now put the final touches to their debut album Let You Go, which is set for release on 28 July on Bleeding Gold Records.
Ahead of the album’s release, we are very excited to premiere the album track ‘Looking Around’, which sits towards the end of the record in all its woozy summertime glory. It’s the musical equivalent of Best Coast hanging out with Slowdive under a palm tree, watching the water lapping at their feet.
