Diamond Rings have a new 7″ coming out for his new jam Wait & See. You can pre-order the pricey import here, or just watch the video below.
Another awesome video from Wild Beasts, this time finding them levitating in mid-air instead of submerged in water. Domino calls this “a tale of insatiable lust, full of twisted bawdiness and louche adventures…”
Post-jump, some upcoming US tour dates…
A cute Pixies cover…
I am so sick of the rain….that’s all it ever seems to do anymore. Luckily, I have songs like this to cheer me up and make it feel like it’s 80 degrees and sunny outside. This lovely band from Memphis, Tennessee have a child-like innocence that is, simply put, infectious. They will be performing in San Francisco with Girls, Hunx and His Punx and The Smith Westerns on Sunday Feb.14th at The Great American Music Hall, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my Valentine’s Day. The name says it all, take a listen to their single Hey Boy and see if you don’t get magically transported to a wonderful place.

This jam by Yellow Fever caught my attention because it was released on the Vivian Girls' own imprint Wild World Records. Check it!
Lo-Fi-Fnk recently released a new video for Marchin’ In, presumably a jam from a new album to look forward to this year!
Video directed by Mattias Johansson. Download the mp3 here.
Piano is a Blenny demo that I’ve been enjoying for quite some time now and thought it needed to be shared. Blenny promises we will hear a completed version soon! Looking forward to it!
This weekend I met up with my good friend Auggie from Portland. He arranged for us to meet up, reunion-style, with some of the folks we used to work with at the record store back in the day. We are talking the 90’s here, so we were not sure what to expect! It was great to chat and catch up with my old co-wokers, and believe it or not, there was a lot of talk about music. One of the great discoveries of the evening was that our dear Kelly’s girlfriend is an aspiring White Rapper!! Her name is MC Flow and she sounds a bit like this…
Awesome!! Don’t give up the dream, girl!
Here is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands over the past year. I love everything about Deerhunter and Bradford Cox is pure genius to me. So much so that I will be seeing both Atlas Sound and Deerhunter in the next couple of months. This performance of Disappearing Ink was filmed in their practice space and is simply impeccable. If you enjoy it download the MP3 and then make sure to go out and buy as much of their music as possible.

Tour dates, post-jump…

I feel like I am an on endless quest; searching for music that takes me back to a time when life was so much simpler, when the worries of today weren’t even being considered. Searching, Searching, Searching. I have love and respect for all kinds of music but there is something in the music you listened to while in your formative years that elicits the nostalgia for times long past. That is why I was so incredibly fortunate to stumble across this amazing band Mirrors; four gentlemen from Brighton who make the kind of music that I crave. I have included a couple of tracks from their Demos EP, give it a listen and remember what it was like to be young again.
Much love
