Magic Kids

I am so sick of the rain….that’s all it ever seems to do anymore.  Luckily, I have songs like this to cheer me up and make it feel like it’s 80 degrees and sunny outside.  This lovely band from Memphis, Tennessee have a child-like innocence that is, simply put, infectious.  They will be performing in San Francisco with Girls, Hunx and His Punx and The Smith Westerns on Sunday Feb.14th at The Great American Music Hall, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my Valentine’s Day.  The name says it all, take a listen to their single Hey Boy and see if you don’t get magically transported to a wonderful place.

Love to all

Yeasayer‘s Odd Blood is coming out soon and this video for the first single, Ambling Alp, is pretty trippy. I’ve been sitting on this until I had the correct upgrade to load videos directly to the blog because this one isn’t on YouTube in this form (cuz there’s some dangly bits! so…nsfw)

Cop the XXXChange Remix of next single O.N.E. here.

Yellow Fever

This jam by Yellow Fever caught my attention because it was released on the Vivian Girls' own imprint Wild World Records. Check it!

Piano is a Blenny demo that I’ve been enjoying for quite some time now and thought it needed to be shared. Blenny promises we will hear a completed version soon! Looking forward to it!

This weekend I met up with my good friend Auggie from Portland. He arranged for us to meet up, reunion-style, with some of the folks we used to work with at the record store back in the day. We are talking the 90’s here, so we were not sure what to expect! It was great to chat and catch up with my old co-wokers, and believe it or not, there was a lot of talk about music. One of the great discoveries of the evening was that our dear Kelly’s girlfriend is an aspiring White Rapper!! Her name is MC Flow and she sounds a bit like this…

Awesome!! Don’t give up the dream, girl!
